Day 2 - About Gillian Alton

Oct 2nd, 2024 - This picture was from our trip to Jamaica where we celebrated our 10th anniversary and spent time with family before flying home to start 4 months of chemotherapy. 

I remember telling my partner Jay before we went to the first chemotherapy consultation that I wasn't leaving there until we figured out to still go on our trip. We had to do a bit of re-arranging (thanks to my doctors and WestJet for being kind enough to change our flights for free!), but my healthcare team knew how much taking this trip meant to me and worked so hard to make sure it was possible. This is one of the many reasons I created the Tour de Elora to support the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre. They treat the patient, not just the cancer.
