Day 3 - About Gillian Alton

Oct 3rd, 2024 - This picture was taken just before my second round of chemotherapy. My hair had started to fall out and it was painful. I knew I was going to lose all my hair during chemo. It was really scary for me. I decided to ease myself into it by shaving my hair short and then letting the rest fall out on its own. 

Logically I knew it was just hair and it would grow back (and it did). But for me, the scariest part of losing my hair was that everyone who saw me would automatically know I had cancer. Luckily, I happened to look great bald! A fact that my family told me after that they were prepared to lie to me about, but in the end they didn't need to.
